John and Ria van Erp began crafting exceptional staircases in their small family business in 1982. They named it Continental Stairs to represent their own heritage as well as their vision of delivering the timeless quality that Europeans are famous for crafting. Continental Stairs has since grown into one of New Zealand’s leading staircase manufacturers with a reputation for outstanding quality.

Today under the leadership of Anthony, John and Ria’s son, we produce over 300 staircases each month, along with custom handrails and balustrades, from our purpose-built factory in Henderson. Supported by Anthony’s wife, Joanne, and senior team members Anish Swamy and Glenn Elsmore, customers are in safe hands with Continental Stairs. Not only does our team value the traditions of their craft and commitment to high quality, they are passionate about keeping up with design trends and new production capabilities.
